RetroSpec Exclusive Series Les Paul Bonnet Control Knobs - Amber

We're proud to present a vintage-correct set of amber bonnet knobs for Les Paul, built to original 1958–1960 specification. These knobs feature the proper top hat profile and shape associated with the classic late-'50s control set.

Each set is a correct, direct replacement — suitable for restorations, conversions, and period-accurate reissue instruments where vintage accuracy matters. Whether you're restoring a guitar or replacing worn originals, these vintage amber control knobs deliver the right fit and function for the job.

There's a detail here that sets these apart. These knobs are made with the same bronze-powder paint we use on our Historic Makeovers Goldtop refinishes — the real thing, not a stabilized modern imitation. Just like a genuine late-'50s Goldtop, that bronze content will continue to oxidize over time, slowly taking on the green cast that collectors know so well. It's 100% authentic in material, and it keeps aging in your hands — exactly as the originals do.

Choose Aged, and the same knobs are taken further. Each Aged set is hand-aged in our shop by Historic Makeovers — the same aging craft we bring to the high-end restorations we're known for. We work every set by hand, one at a time: deepening the amber and easing the gloss the way decades of honest playing would. Because each set is treated individually, no two are ever alike — the knobs you receive carry their own character and can't be reproduced.
