Look at a vintage Les Paul's toggle switch. The nut securing it to the top of the guitar is coarse-knurled — a machine-turned grip pattern used by Gibson through the late 1950s into the early 1960s. By the mid-1960s, this detail was gone.
The RetroSpec Exclusive Series Coarse Knurled Switch Nut is one of those "correct when you see it" details — the coarse-knurled nut used on all late-'50s Gibson electrics. With a nickel finish, correct diameter, and standard Gibson toggle switch thread pitch, this is the detail that distinguishes a vintage-correct toggle installation.
Our coarse-knurl toggle nut matches the original machine-turned grip pattern that Gibson used during the golden era, giving your toggle switch the authentic look and feel of a late-'50s Gibson electric.
Choose between NOS (New Old Stock) for a clean vibe, or Aged for that well-loved, road-worn appearance. Perfect for restorations, conversions, or any player chasing the golden age of tone and craftsmanship. Every aged piece is hand-treated, resulting in slight variations that give each one its own unique character.
This is more than just a switch nut — it’s the vintage-correct detail that completes your toggle switch installation.
