Most modern Gibson guitars are equipped with zinc tailpieces, which are significantly heavier and tend to dampen resonance. At approximately 1.2 oz, this lightweight aluminum tailpiece is less than half the weight of a typical zinc unit, making it one of the most effective upgrades you can make to improve clarity, response, and overall liveliness.
