RetroSpec Exclusive Series Strap Buttons with Screws - Nickel

The strap buttons are the last detail most people think about — and one of the first things that gives away a modern build. Ours are made to original Gibson specification: correct diameter, correct depth, and a nickel finish matched to vintage-era hardware.

Where most reproductions cut corners is the screws. A vintage Les Paul doesn't use two identical screws — it uses two different ones. The button on the upper horn, near the neck, takes the smaller screw. The button at the tail end of the guitar takes the larger screw — the harder one to source in correct vintage spec, and the one almost every generic set gets wrong. This set includes both, correctly matched to their positions, so the install is right from the start.

Choose NOS for a clean, just-installed look, or Aged for a well-loved, road-worn character. And the aging here isn't a generic tumble or a chemical dip — it's done by hand in the Historic Makeovers shop, the same aging that goes onto the instruments our clients trust us with. Every aged piece is treated individually, so each one carries slight variations that make it its own.
